Talk Admin Console

I created an administration console for Talk, a company specialized in the education industry.

For confidentiality purposes, some names, data and information have been changed.

The challenge

The challenge was to design an administration console which allows teachers to manage students, generate reports, create classes and education programs. Through this administration console, we allowed to create a link from the Talk mobile app (another of their product) and monitor performance from the console.

An accurate monitoring, management and data-analysis of these students is critical to the success and profitability of the business.

The client and the team

Talk is an education company specialized in public speaking/communication. It basically provides students, leaders and managers the tools to lead correctly and gather the necessary confidence to shine in public and in any social environment.

This involves providing teachers and students a digital way of learning, both through an app and an administration console.

The team was composed by the CEO, the Project Manager, a Front-end developer, a Back-end developer and myself as a UX/UI Designer. During the project, I got to work more with the CEO and the Back-End Developer than the rest, depending on needs.

The problems

The current interfaces were just requirements from the development team on a sketchy Figma file. No action had been taken towards creating a user experience of any kind.

  • No action had been taken in creating a user experience
  • I started with a bunch of requirements from the development team
  • No design guideline nor structure to start with

Sketching the new interface

I started sketching the layout and functionalities of the administration console.

A lot of new feature came to life in this process and the development team had to meet several time to gather the right requirements and display the key features.

Wireframes and new structures

I created a variety of new structures and concepts in order to achieve the following goals:

  • Increase findability of key functions
  • Improve workflow
  • Decrease cognitive load/confusion when working
  • Make it look better and easier to handle

Gathering new requirements

In this process, I was in charge to gather new requirements for this admin console.

Indeed, we've been working with a V1 (version above) for a few weeks and needed to make improvement and come up with a V2 with better functionalities.

The complex reporting screens

One of the main challenges in this project was to implement reporting pages that could display the data of participants, classes, programs and companies with a clear and easy-to-use interface.

I've implemented a filter function that could work in any situation throughout the admin console interface, which drastically simplified the usability of this interface.

The final designs

Here are the final designs of this admin console.

I hope you'll like it ;) Thanks for watching !
